Overview
The Avoids feature allows fleets to define geographic areas that drivers should not route through - for instance, to steer clear of adverse weather or avoid expensive toll roads.
Avoids can only be defined as rectangles at this time. Optionally, avoids can include an expiration window to enforce time-bound restrictions such as a temporary construction project.
Avoids include a status that determines how they are applied:
Active – applied to all routes for all loads in a given environment
Test – enables testing of the avoid in Trip Planner Studio’s Build a New Route
Inactive – stored but not applied
Each environment supports up to 300 avoids, with a combined limit of 150 in active or test status at any given time.
Avoids are created and managed within App Manager or via API. For API-specific guidance, refer to Avoids.
Note: There is a user specific permission for Avoids that must be enabled before a user can access the feature. Permissions can be set at https://secure.driveaxleapp.com/account/users.
