Overview

Menus enable users to navigate between features in the mobile app. Each user has a single menu associated with them at a time.

How Menus Work

A default menu is created within App Manager automatically. The code for this default menu is DEFAULT-MENU. If you need different menus for different groups and users, you may create these individual menus within App Manager and then assign the appropriate menus through your User Authentication integration.

IMPORTANT: Menus are assigned to users through your User Authentication integration, and not through App Manager.

Below is an example of how the mobile app menu appears on phones and tablets:

NOTE: On cell phones, menus can be opened in a collapsed menu icon (☰). On tablets, the first few menu items are displayed in a banner at the bottom of the screen, the rest can be viewed by tapping the more button to the very right of the banner, as seen above.

When adding items to a menu, you will choose from the following types.

  • Document List

  • Home

  • Hours of Service

  • Launch App

  • Load List

  • Logout

  • Media Library

  • Message Editor

  • Messages

  • Nested Menu

  • News

  • Payroll

  • Scan Flow

  • Screen

  • Telephone

  • To Do

  • Web Browser

IMPORTANT: The following deprecated fields are no longer supported and should not be used: Legacy Web Browser, Video Library.

For further information regarding each type refer to our Menu Item Types Guide.
